Best Week Yet but Still Cash Holes!

This was a good week. I did not get to play much during the week as work has been pretty crazy but the long holiday weekend and a light home calendar allowed me to get some play in. I played just under 1,000 hands in tournament play (total of 10 sessions) and netted a total of $71 including two first place finishes; one for $85.50 and another for $22.50. I thought I played well and actually finished first in two tournaments, 2nd in another and was literally the bubble boy in 3 others.

The Cash Game action was up and down. I was down $20.53 for the week (playing strictly 25NL) but I had some tables where I stacked off multiple players but, unfortunately, there were other tables where villains stacked me off. I was down $34 on one table and $37 on another. There were other tables where I ended up $10, $16 and $26. There were a couple hands that I would love to take back. One I had AQ on a Axx board and bet big. Villain goes all in and I tank. I know he has AK but I call anyway ... sure enough, AK and I stack him off. Not sure what possessed me to call. There was another hand that I played poorly on the River. I have JTh and the turn gives me Jacks and a flush draw. The River spikes another Jack and villain bets $4. The minute I raised All In I thought to myself that the board paired and I could have just called. Sure enough, the villain had trips Aces all along and hit his full house with the second Jack ... I stacked him off for $25 ... ARGH! These are the hands that I have to get away from.

Overall, a pretty good week and I am real happy with my tournament results. When I get knocked out it is typically because I am ahead when I get my money in. I wish I could say the same for the cash game action!
